Introduction:

The clock is ticking, and it is about time to make sure your organization is completing the required steps towards Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) compliance! Few time is left since entities are required by a Royal Decree, to adjust their status within a period not exceeding one year from the date it became effective. This means you only have until March 2023 or you will have to face penalties for non-compliance.

If your company processes personal data of Saudi residents, it has to meet PDPL requirements, and initiate a project specifically designed to fulfill the law’s obligations, including updated software implementation and training employees on data security awareness to protect the company from any data breaches.

It is important to note that concerned organizations are subject to registration via an electronic portal maintained by SDAIA and are requested to pay annual registration fees.
